<image:caption>Movie: Star Wars. This is one version of the "BlasTech E-11 Imperial Blaster." This one and many of the originals in the first movie were made on deactivated British Army Sterling 9mm SMGs. However, SOME were left as live fire SMGs modified to fire blanks. In some scenes in "A New Hope" you can see the empty brass casing being ejected as a stormtrooper fires. The scope is a WWII Sherman Tank scope and the magazine is shorter than the military 34 round version and is believed to be a special 10 round magazine intended for UK police use. *</image:caption>

This prop was made by my late friend, Hollywood propmaker and former police officer Frank Rousseau. Frank made several for filming out of resin but also made two out of aluminum and painted to look like resin for closeup sequences where the gun is fired (blanks). To comply with ATF regulations, when filming was completed one aluminum gun was rendered inoperable by cutting and one intact one was donated to the U.S. Secret Service museum. *</image:caption>
